Dunno what the status is, but I think this may help.

In the Network Control Panel, under TCP Properties, click the Advanced
button at the lower right.
Click on the WINS tab at the top.
Make sure that "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is selected.
Make sure that "Enable LMHOSTS Lookup" is unchecked (unless you are using a
LMHOSTS file)

You'll prolly want to reboot.

As an aside, wouldn't it be easier to move files with anything at this
point - even FTP?
