A good server will have a tape backup, though it's unlikely that it will 
have backed up temporary files such as eMail, unless they happened to be on 
the server during the backup period.
As far as data recovery goes, I doubt they would want to spend that kind of 
money on a trivial matter. If you are very very lucky the data has not been 
overwritten and you could recover it yourself, I've recovered some data off  
drives destroyed by a virus, but this usually involves sending the drive 
out to a company that specializes in data recovery.
I've used programs like Directory Snoop that you can find lost files such 
as eMail, since they are text (or mostly text in the case of OE), and you 
can even find pieces of lost files, but the longer you wait the less you'll 
be able to get. Not an easy task.
