I believe there were patches that added this feature as far back as 
Sendmail 8.8. Looks like it was introduced in M4 with 8.10, and working 
correctly in 8.12. However because of the security bug in 8.12 you should 
be using 8.12.10.

You use the Feature like this in M4
FEATURE(`delay_checks', `friend')
To enable spamfriend test.

Then in access.db
Spam:abuse@	FRIEND

And from what little I know about Postfix it seems to have a similar 
feature.
