Margie,

I have to disagree. postamstergeneral.com is not an isp it is a
spamhaus that thinks it has risen above any problems with spam
complaints from Spamcop or any other source by registering itself as
the abuse address.
The spam reports are sent to the spammer themselves. postmastergeneral
has done the same as telodigm..they ignore the complaints because the
reports are sent to themselves. Without a cc to abuse
SpamCop might as well drop postmastergeneral from its function because
all reports sent to Postastergeneral.com are useless and a waste of
time unless they are are also sent to a non auto ignored abuse address
at abuse Regarding munged data .. yes SpamCop removes the
email address of the victimized email box. I know for a fact that
postmastergeneral.com does not require opt in confirmation. I know for
a fact that postmastergeneral.com forwards the complainants' email
addresses to their spammer clients for possible inclusion in other
spammer list collections. I know for a fact that postmastergeneral
uses the email addresses for list washing so I applaud SpamCop for
deleting the address and sending "munged data" (data minus the
victim's email address) to the source of the spam.
If I understand what you are saying correctly, then there is abullet
proof formula for being a perfect spammer:
1. Buy the millions CD email lists
2. Set up a web site at a place like telodigm
because they will not shut it down
3. send your list to postmastergeneral.com who will email it out
without fear of spam reports because the reports will only go to
themselves for at most list washing.

Surely in our fight against spam we must be more adaptively effective.
When the spammer moves to put up a defense mechanism like registering
themselves as the abuse.net recipient we must move beyond that and
send the reports to an ear that will listen. SpamCop could do that in
this case by coding in abuse with the postmastergeneral
reports.
