In the groups I frequent, the Charter is published by the Admin(s) or
Moderator(s) just so there is no question as to authenticity. But that does
not mean they are stuck with the job of writing it. I can think of several
things that I would like to see in such a Charter here. I'm sure there are
others who'd be willing to propose items and wording as well.
Regarding the FAQ, I honestly thing it needs improvement in several areas.
I can tell you from my own experience the FAQ was *extremely* confusing to
me on several topics, in fact even navigation took a bit of mastery. Most
searches I use don't turn up what I need.
Personally, I'd take a hint from the questions that get asked by the
newbies. If more than one user says they've read the FAQ on that point and
are unclear, it needs updating. Period.
Having said that, in many cases I'm not sure what the update would look
like. (I do hate to complain without proposing a solution.) Because, from
trial and error and experience, I can now do some of the things I was
originally unclear about, so the FAQ makes sense to me! :> Of course it
does, I have a frame of reference now!
