[not really a reply to michael, just a general comment on this thread] 

People will always ask stupid questions.  They don't want to read the
faq.  They want personal attention.  No matter how many barriers you put
in their way, the same thing happens.  I think the forum and the posting
form is a good way to deflect them from *my* email ;)

If people don't like that kind of clutter in the NG, then just don't
read the .help group.  If that group turns into a clueless-question-only
zone, that's fine by me.  I'll be happy to pay someone to go answer
questions and give support.  Already my "no-support" policy is somewhat
of a lie.  Whether a question is answered by another user or by max or
by myself, I like every one to get an answer one way or another - as
long as it isn't total troallage.
