Look again at what I found:

;; ANSWER SECTION:
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway2.att.net.
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway3.att.net.
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway4.att.net.
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway5.att.net.
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway6.att.net.
att.net. 19h52m48s IN MX 5 gateway1.att.net.

All of those servers are priority 5, which means none is "primary", they
simply round robin. The answers you receive would most likely be the
same for all of the servers. If I had found, for example:

;; ANSWER SECTION:
mail.com. 26m47s IN MX 10 mail-intake-1.mail.com.
mail.com. 26m47s IN MX 20 mail-intake-2.mail.com.
mail.com. 26m47s IN MX 30 mail-intake-3.mail.com.

I would query the primary mail server, mail-intake-1.mail.com.

You are quite welcome. :)
