You may have gotten a spam recently touting Flash website design, with
a phone number in area code 516.  I gave them a call, from my office
(callerID blocked, and a not-quite-local but not long-distance call)
and after a brief chat, they're trying to paint themselves as
clueless, but I somehow don't think so.  They made all the pious
noises when I explained about the difference between opt-out and
opt-in, and when I pointed them to mail-abuse.org and cauce.org, but
again, it didn't 'feel' right.  At any rate, I at least tried.  Maybe
I'm misreading them, and they really were clueless.
