Just because an email says it came from a Yahoo account doesn't mean it
did, the From: is easily forged.  Yahoo & Hotmail have millions of
customers which makes it difficult for people to block everything from
those domains so spammers will often choose to use one of those domains in
their bogus return address.

Check through your options at Yahoo.  Even if you set things up NOT to
receive promotional email Yahoo has a history of resetting these options
in their favor.  You could find that your options page says you want
garbage from Yahoo and it's 'partners'.
