Is this the place where I insert Greg's standard rant (IGSR - hey, where
have I seen that acronym before?...  ;-)) about being willing to host an
off-site status page (with a few mirrors for good measure)?

Nah, we've been down that road so many times we've plowed a 2-foot rut down
the middle of it.  Oh well, they can't say nobody offered......  :-)
