Yup, I used to report all the intrusions "religiously" :) and then I
stopped. That was a few years ago - I don't even look at my firewall log
anymore. 
The only important "hits" are the ones that actually get through the first
firewall. So far, that is a big fat zero.
I have a firewall, a NAT switch/router and a software firewall on each
computer. I am not paranoid - just realistic.
It only takes 10 seconds for an unprotected XP box to get infected after
being connected directly to the net. For Linux and others, probably a
little longer. I don't connect anything directly to the net here, unless I
actually want to see what's going on.
