I'm going to claim to be a part of the civilized world, even though some
here don't believe that includes the U.S.
The booby prize popped up during prime time, that is, 6 pm to 10 pm. The
FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has declared that obscenities
(including nudity and profanity) are prohibited during prime time hours.
CBS, a network that has been around longer than my grandparents, knows the
regulations. MTV, a cable network of questionable integrity, obviously
either does not know of the regulations for on-air network television, or
does not care.
The "sniggering adolescent" attitude referred to by a previous poster is
assumed, BUT, also a part of our society. Somewhere along the line the
puritans decided we should wear clothes and it's become embedded within our
laws and our land. It's not juvenile when your child asks "why did that man
rip off her clothes?" Do you answer "because she's a slut, honey, get back
to your homework" or do you try to explain that this is what two falling
stars and MTV believe is entertainment?
I guess this is comparable to some European star whipping out the winkie and
waving it on the airwaves, or is that legal now?
Not trolling, just my opinion.... :-)
