You asked me: "Do you think that the first amendment allows _you_ to
exploit open proxies, open relays and/or trojaned boxen to send out
_your_ political message?" (emphasis added). You're trying to insinuate
that the reason I'm arguing against government prohibition of political
e-mail is that I'm sending political e-mail. I'm not, and I wanted to
make that clear. It's the principle I'm concerned with.

Those are illegal activities, so of course the Constitution doesn't
guarantee them. But that's not the point. If a political campaign sets
up its own mail server or employs legitimate means of sending mass
e-mail, then your question doesn't apply and the government has no
authority to ban such e-mails.
