Not in defense of OL or OE, or MS for that matter, but putting or
starting the cursor at the top of the reply is a good place to put it
because that's where the trimming should start happening before the
contextualized replying begins.
I use OE Quote-Fix and it gives me the option of whether I want to have
the cursor positioned at the top or not, and I 'choose' to have the
cursor start at the top. OE QF also gives me a lot of other options.
In a world full of those who are very unhappy about OE's 'inborn'
non-compliance 'features' as a newsreader, I think it is good
'netiquette' to use OE quote fixed and sig fixed.
