Huh? I've seen 10 MB powerpoint presentations reduced by a factor of 3-4
when turned into PDFs.

Depends on the speed/RAM of the machine you're using for one.....it's
incredibly slow if you're looking at a PDF on a website because it appears
(to me, at least) that pages not in view don't load until you actually get
to them, but right clicking, save as, then load it locally with Reader and
it's a hell of a lot faster. I also like the ability to type the page number
into that little box at the bottom and jump right to where you want to
go --- Word can't do that.
