Agreed. There's no reason at all to code pages to fit in any absolute 
size when you can use width="60%" instead of width="400" for example.

Furthermore, I'd much appreciate it if the "wide" layout were the 
default. I fail to see why I should accept a cookie just so I can use 
the whole (only 15") screen.

The ads on the left aren't a problem. I can either ignore them or, if 
they really do get up my nose, I can add a couple of entries to my 
nameserver and hey presto, the domains don't resolve any more.
