Actually the Register article is particularly cautious (for them). They
just report that someone made the claim on a mailing list, and say they
can't confirm it.

Well they could sacrifice themselves on principle, but it's quite a lot to
ask.  As their site points out, it's not something specific to their CD -
all the CDs on their label this protection, and they're not the only major
label to do so.

They've been going downhill since Ill Communication anyway, imho...
