Yes, there are dozens of variants. But this one apparently employs a
computer program to insert your last name into the text of the message. The
scheme is that someone with your *same last name* has died and left a huge
sum of money, but no heirs. Can you kindly volunteer to "fill in" as a
long-lost relative and collect the princely sum?
Wow...

Attn: Livingston,
I am Barrister Frank Madu, an attorney to Mr.Livingston, Hereinafter
referred to as my client.
On the 21st of November 2000, my client, his wife and their two
children were involved in a car accident, where unfortunately they lost
their
lives.
Before and after their interment, I made concerted efforts to locate
any of my client's extended relatives but this proved unsuccessful. After
these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to use his last name to
locate any member of his family hence I contacted you.
[blah, blah, blah].... 6.3 million dolars ..... [blah blah blah]
I have less than 2 months for me to present somebody as the next of kin or
the money will be
"forfeit"
