No "perhaps" about it. Private business has been encouraged for many 
years. In economic "hubs" like Shanghai there are a lot of very rich 
people.

And where does communism "in its basic form" still *exist*?

It changed long, long ago. And it's still "communist". Just not the kind 
of theoretical communism you assume still exists there.

There we agree. He also obviously has no idea that in China there are a 
multitude of cultures.
