My primary e-mail provider has put in their terms of service that users 
are not to unsubscribe from anything that they did not subscribe to.

Instead, the postmaster will if needed, block that domain from sending 
to the mail server.  Most of the time, the sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org is doing 
that job first.
