Ok, i'll run thru it. Hope it all makes sense.
First thing is to setup a Protocol Group:
1) Goto Firewall, click the Expert tab, click Groups button (bottom right)
2) You should be in the Goup Manager dialog. Select the Protocols tab.
3) Click Add to get the Add Protocol Group dialog. Give the new group an
appropriate name e.g. Email Access
4) Now click Add and do the following:
a) select 'Protocol' = 'TCP & UDP'
b) Description = DNS (same as protocol name)
c) Destination port = DNS
d) click OK
5) repeat step 4 for IMAP4, NNTP, POP3 and SMTP.
6) Keep clicking OK until you get back to Firewall on the main panel.
Now we need to apply the Protocol Group the OE.
1) Under Program Control, locate Outlook Express (MSIMN.EXE)
2) Right click on it and select 'Options'
3) Select the 'Expert Rules' tab, Click 'Add'
4) On this dialog do the following:
a) Rank = 1
b) Name/comments whatever you want
c) State = Enabled
d) Action = Allow
e) Track = None
f) Protocol >> Modify >> Add Protocol >> Existing Group, check mark the
Email Access group created above
(Leave the other boxes unchanged)
g) click OK until you get back to the 'Expert Rules' tab
5) Click 'Add' again and do this:
a) Rank = 2
b) Name/Comment whatever you want
c) State = Enabled
d) Action = Block
e) Track = None
f) Leave all boxes unchanged
g) click 'OK' all the way back to 'Program Control' .
That's it, your done!
