Purchased on rare occasions but am VERY specific in the order and elsewhere
that I am not be added to mail list.  Also followed up when I did receive
the first 'promotional emails' informing them that I did not sign up and
further did not want to receive any more emails.  Generally ignored and thus
reported.  Still it's been 3 years since my last order and still get the
occasional spam.

FWIW I keep copies of the op-in confirmation on list that I do sub to so
there is no question.   I have never, ever sent in a confirmation for
Amazon.
