Sigh.  I tried that, but to no avail.

However, Netscape's browser may have come to my rescue.  There's 
an option to block images from certain domains, and I just put
stats.esomniture.com in that list.  I'll report back as soon as
I've done my morning rounds at that popular auction site ...
