I think the configuration that helps it is in Advanced, check depend on
OE -- "Select this option if you want OE-QuoteFix to be closed as soon
as Outlook Express is closed. It helps save system resources and is
generally recommended."
I think the problem is that 'something' accumulates with usage. QF
keeps a record or log 'inside itself' of whatall it has done for some
reason, so maybe the developer didn't handle that buffer correctly. So
periodically, if not shutdown and restarted, things start acting
'funky' - where the reformatting stops working properly. If you go very
far past that without exiting and restarting, something is going to
crash. And yes, the crash can come about when nothing is going on.
I've tried a little bit to look into it with a tool that looks at
memory, including resource memory - but that didn't tell me anything.
So now I just remember to shut down OE/QF periodically and start it back
up and everything is OK.
