Microsoft will roll out the first beta of its anti-spyware software 
Thursday, Jan. 6, according to a leaked internal memo published by the 
Neowin Web site.

Some analysts have theorized that Microsoft's acquisition of Giant, and 
its release of anti-spyware software, was driven by increased interest 
in browsers that compete with its Internet Explorer.
