Hmm, no, it's not your imagination, near as I can tell.  I have 
noticed something "funny" a time or two in quoted responses to 
me, but never quite put my finger on it - I think you just did.

The quote marks above do look to be one longer than they're 
supposed to be.  I'll check it out and see what I can find. 
Maybe two >'s got into the character setting or something.
