I'd like to add to Mike's comment that boundaries are added by the mail
client, or whatever constructed the eMail message. It is not normally
modified by any other machine in the path. (normally means excluding spam
filters, virus filters, bounces, which often add new attachments)
Just send an attachment to yourself and you'll see the boundary that your
eMail clients adds.
