The poster is persistent and continually spams several newsgroups that I 
subscribe to.

I think (s)he already lost at least one Google account as the Google posting 
id has changed, as well as the reply-to address. But, Google is also 
notoriously slow to investigate spam complaints.

I recon that if several people complain to AOL it becomes easier for AOL to 
figure out that their TOS had been violated. And as you recognized, it is 
not one post to one group. I let the first few posts slide, but then I 
decided to try and take him/her out or at least cause them some trouble.
