It is to counteract simplistic Bayesian heuristic filters.

If you fix your OE so that it will only post to newsgroups in plaintext,
that html stuff won't happen in ng/s.

OE/ Tools/ Options/ Send tab - News sending format section - check
plaintext instead of html.
