I don't recognize my "offer" as rephrased by you.
I responded to Mike's statement that "In almost all newsgroups top posting 
simply doesn't work.  Can't work."
My response was that in Microsoft newsgroups (and there are hundreds
of them) better than 80% of posts are top-posted, and it works out
quite well. 

Top-posting and bottom-posting both have advantages and disadvantages.
My primary objection is to those who treat posting style like it is some
sort of holy religious grail, and any deviation from dogma is met with a
fusilage of heavy caliber fire and threats of excommunication.
