has never been acceptable but by very few people who were users of 
pre-email messages in the days of CP/M. Why is it that you are in the

      Maybe, maybe not. I hope so. Then only the serious people who are 
actually interested in the discussion at hand will be involved, like it 
was so many years ago.

      Yes. AOLers would discover Usenet and begin to spew. That will no 
longer be a problem since AOL dropped their news server, but the damage 
is done which is a point you seem to be making particularly clear. BTW, 
allow me to take this time to mention that typing in all caps is 
considered shouting and is very rude. You shouldn't do that either. Face 
it, you have lost this battle, you should go ahead and give up now.
