But I'm reading that you 'contacted JT'. You didn't contact JT because
something wouldn't 'walk' into the kb. It sounds to me like you
contacted JT because you tho't that there shouldn't be pages referring
to spamcop.mail or something.
I completely disagree. I'm the one who is arguing that there should be
spamcop.mail and that there should be 'advertising' of spamcop.mail and
that the various ng/s including spamcop.mail should have the same kind
of support and exposure and interactions they always have.
I'm the one who believes that there should be as much referring in the
webforums of people to go visit the newsgroups [or more] as there is
referring in the newsgroups of people to go visit the forum.
I'm the one who believes that any faq/s in there might ought to give a
few pointers to how to use a newsreader, just as the faq/s on the
website as well as the webforum should be giving plenty of pointers to

Well, let's don't be stamping it out. Let's be enhancing it, for

Mailhosts system discussion
NNTP (usenet style) Newsgroups
that section should have a direct link to the newsgroups; in fact, all
[where all includes mail and help] of the newsgroups should be listed
and linked right 'under' NNTP ng/s.
Instead, clicking the ng/s leads to a page section ...
... which needs to be improved. It has some old 'misinformation' which
was never changed when the spamcop.mail and spamcop.help removal
'amendment' was performed in an effort to turn spamcop.mail into
If there is going to be a newsgroups guidance page, all of the ng/s
should be in there, including routing, which should indicate that you
have to know what you are talking about to post into routing; including
.help because there are newbies who should be treated 'gently' in the ng
just like before there was a webforum - the idea that 'everyone' should
be steered into the webforum and that the ng/s are just a place to be
tolerated or put up with but avoided by both admin and the masses is
just flat wrong - and mail should be there.
If some admins don't want to interact in the ng/s, fine. Let them not.
But answers can be given in ng/s, not just links to forum articles.
Whenever I give someone a link to anything, I give them an important
'piece' of what is to be found there, which might include a copy of the
answer to the question.
