Heh.  I see the winking smiley in there, but I'll comment as if it
weren't anyway...

The two mechanisms I see used for putting things from the ng into the
forum are simple copy and paste or to plug in a link to the pipermail
archive.

So, that wouldn't work for my .gif/s because the copy/pasting is text
and the pipermail archive doesn't archive .spam and it certainly doesn't
archive news attached graphics :-)

I think a lot of newsreaders will display that newsmessage attached
graphic by launching a 'renderer'/viewer of some kind.  Even if OE is
configured to use IE in restricted mode and to display msgs in plaintext
it will display such an attached graphic, since it doesn't require any
html rendering.
