[SpamCop-Social] security and ordering online

I'm planning to order from caseit.com in a few weeks, and I had reservations
because the only method of payment is a credit card; however, I absolutely
cannot find the product anywhere else but at this web site.  My parents have
used a CC for amazon.com a few times, and I would like to trust caseit.com
as much but it's obvious this is simply a different level.  And basically, I
don't want something like this to happen:

Thawte (I believe they are somehow tied in with Verisign?) handles the SSL,
but now I'm not really sure what a secure socket icon is worth!  Anyone have
advice on online security?

FWIW, I'm ordering the videotape container seen in this image:

Used to find them at Super K-Mart but can't find them there anymore.  I have
~60 video tapes on the floor that need somewhere to stay.
