Oh, don't worry, I don't. One of the places where I'd liked to have lived
would have been the "Abbaye de Thélème" as described by Rabelais. That was
an abbey for "moines et moinesses" (monks of both sexes), its motto was "Fay
ce que voudras" (Do as thou wilt), and love (including carnal love) between
its inhabitants was expressly encouraged by its Rule. Alas, I don't know
where my Rabelais has gotten itself lost, but the pages describing Thélème
come immediately after the Picrocholic wars, in the Gargantua I think. As
role models, I would prefer Erasmus (and his "Laus Stultitiae" -- In Praise
of Folly, IIUC) to Dante.
