I just got finished digging out all
the way to the street and realized that when my neighbors used the one guy's
truck
plow to clear their own side of the street all the snow got piled up in
front of MY driveway! I had twice as much to shovel, and by hand! They had a
plow and a snow blower....bastards. I think I'll have a little talk with
them next time I see them, I'm actually friends with them.....

So I finally get out to go to the convenience store, following in the tracks
of the 4-wheelers. At the end of the road, just 30 ft from freedom, some
Indian guy is stuck in his Toyota, completely blocking the one open lane!
After quickly figuring out he doesn't know how to get himself unstuck, I
jumped in his car and rocked it out of the snowpile in less than 30 seconds.
I run into him at the store and start bitching about how I noticed two short
sidestreets are _completely_ plowed, while ours hasn't even had one pass. He
wonders why, I tell him it's because someone who lives on those streets has
connections with the county government and pulled some strings (I know the
HOA president lives on one of the streets). He looks at my in wonder and
says "Really?! I thought that kind of thing only happened in India!" I
literally laughed out loud.....he's obviously not aware of how politics work
in the states!
