What you are looking for is to describe that scientist who discovered
a way to make a vaccine for polio (IIRC) and then went on to declare
that massive amounts of Vitamin C would cure colds.  If he was ahead
of the curve on that one, he still is because most scientists say that
excess Vitamin C is just excreted.
