They'll find me scut work to do until a real, new program comes along, but
I'm hoping that when the project manager finds out that I'm off the job
she'll scream bloody murder and demand they put me back on the job. I've
been working on it longer than nearly anyone on the team and have provided a
lot of general system engineering support besides the hardware I built for
it. I already had a secret little chat with one of the lead govvie engineers
and her jaw hit the floor when I told her what was going to happen. I just
need to tread _really_ carefully here for a bit else they _will_throw me out
on the street for bypassing the chain of command like that. It's a really
touchy subject, lots of reputations and egos involved (yes, including mine).
