At the same time, Rep. Tom Allen, D-Maine, called for a congressional
investigation into whether oil corporations are taking advantage of supply
disruptions caused by Hurricane Katrina.
"Many are wondering how prices could go up so quickly after the hurricane,"
said Mark Sullivan, Allen's press secretary.

profit margins to the levels that existed before Hurricane Katrina hit the
Gulf Coast region.
"This is a time for the president to call on the oil companies for some
sacrifice," he said at a press conference in Portland.
