be THAT as it may, there's no way anyone can be expected to believe that had
the local government wanted it bad enough, something couldn't have been done
about it. There may be a huge disparity between the "upper" and "lower"
classes of folks who live there, however with the amount of commerce that
goes thru that area, and the amount of the business/tax base there that
something couldn't have been done.
with that said, I'm not "Ni-eve" (spl) enough to think that there's some
magical wand that the local government could wave, and the tons of money
needed for that type endeavor would just "appear", but there is still allot
that the local folks (government) could have done on their own to rectify
the safety vs. budget issue. IE build/upgrade it themselves
in the reply previous to this it was stated that "That's BS, Bill. NO has
been begging for levee upgrades for years", now am I to understand that
anytime the 'feds' can't/won't fork over funding for something, we are
supposed to just give up?, and NOT work on it on our own?
The way I see it, if anything's BS. that is.
hmmmmm, yeah I said that right
GRRR gtg to work BBL
